Ik kreeg vandaag een email van Google. Althans, dat doet de afzender (GOOGLE COORPORATION - notification@google.co.uk ) en subjectregel (OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION FROM GOOGLE) vermoeden.
In de mail staat verder helemaal niks. Geen inleidend stukje waar dit allemaal over gaat. Er zit alleen een attachment bij (GOOGLE AWARDS.eml (9,70 kB).
Is dit een betrouwbare mail?

Als het echt een e-mail is kun je die natuurlijk ook hier (gedeeltelijk) posten (evt e-mail adressen er in, waarschijnlijk van onschuldigen, obfuscaten of verwijderen).

Door Bastos: Ik ga dat attachment niet openen hoor. Ik kijk wel uit. En als het van Google is dan zou je toch verwachten dat ze even keurig in de mail vermelden waar het allemaal over gaat...
attachments zijn alleen schadelijk als je ze opent in de voor de extensie bestemde viewer (voor zover ik weet). Want daar zou de eventuele exploit eenmaal voor gemaakt zijn. als je dit bestand in notepad opent kan er niks gebeuren.NOTEPAD (ziet er inderdaad onschuldig uit, maar wel raar dat Google Corporations een mailadres van de concurrent gebruikt @live.com)

In het kort: gefeliciteerd, je hebt 450,000 Britse Pong gewonnen!!! Om dat te krijgen moet je contact opnemen met Frank Smith. Zodra je dat doe zal hij je vertellen dat je, om dat geld te krijgen, eerst even wat geld naar hem moet overmaken... Te dom voor woorden, maar er zijn telkerns weer sukkels die hier intrappen.
Door de mail zelf als bijlage op te nemen proberen ze kennelijk spamfilters te passeren. Het feit dat je hem kreeg lijkt te bewijzen dat dit werkt |-(

Verbazingwekkend dat sommige mensen daadwerkelijk hier nog steeds intrappen. En dat je zomaar verschillende honderdduizenden euro's/ponds/dollars zou kunnen winnen ... yeah right :)! Je kunt er ook aan toevoegen dat Google je vast geen mailing verstuurt die je vervolgens uit de bijlage moet halen.
Google weet echt wel hoe je emails netjes doet overkomen. En zo niet dan moeten ze maar harder hun best doen om ons te bereiken.

Dat kan juist best wel. E-mail kent normaal gesproken een envelope-from en een "From:" veld.
